Dr. Heyward Boyette

Dr. Heyward Boyette graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1994 and joined Cherokee Trail Veterinary Hospital in 1998. He became a partner at Cherokee Trail Veterinary Hospital in 2000. Beginning in 2007 Dr. Boyette began sharing time between Cherokee Trail Veterinary Hospital and Lake Murray Animal Hospital. Dr Boyette has a wife and two daughters and serves on the board of Directors of the Carolina Ballet, is a member of St. Albans Church and the Lexington Rotary Club. Dr. Boyette is an avid reader and also enjoys sketching and Ohio State football.

Dr. Ginger Macaulay

Dr. Ginger Macaulay attended Clemson University and graduated from the University of Georgia Veterinary College in 1984. Born and raised in the Lexington area, Dr. Macaulay returned in 1986 and began working at Cherokee Trail Veterinary Hospital. She purchased the hospital in 1998, and since 2008 Dr. Macaulay has been working at both the Cherokee Trail and Lake Murray offices. She presently shares her home with a number of four legged friends. Dr. Macaulay is a past president of the South Carolina Veterinary Association and current board member of Lexington County Arts Association. She attends St. Stephens Lutheran church. Dr. Macaulay enjoys sports, the outdoors (especially rock climbing in Wyoming), Broadway, and all things Disney.

Dr. Brittany Sheppard

Dr. Brittany Sheppard is a Clemson alumni and graduated from Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine (Virginia Tech) in 2015. She joined Cherokee Trail Veterinary Hospital as a new graduate in 2015. After one year at Cherokee Trail, she began working at the Lake Murray office. She has a strong interest in large animals and enjoys spending her free time riding horses. She has many 4 legged children including a catahoula leopard dog and a chocolate lab. Dr. Sheppard also enjoys sports and during football season she can be found cheering on the Clemson Tigers.

Dr. Janice Homan

Dr. Janice Homan comes to our hospital from Northern Virginia where she and her husband owned a busy small animal practice for almost 25 years. They recently moved to Lake Murray to be closer to family. Dr. Homan loves being a general practitioner and is excited about becoming a member of the Lake Murray Animal Hospital family. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Cornell University in 1985 and her VMD degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1989. Dr. Homan looks forward to getting to know you and your pets!
